Carla Bosch grew up in South Africa’s capital city, Pretoria. The city’s famous annual carpet of purple jacaranda blossoms would go on to inspire her superb artwork.

She studied interior design at the Tshwane University of Technology and in 1998 – inspired by her father’s love for art which he undertook in the evenings after working as a pharmacist during the day – Carla started painting in earnest and her unique style was soon recognized by both galleries and art collectors worldwide.

She was awarded an Extraordinary Ability Green Card by the USCIS in January 2015 and so moved to America to continue her career.

Carla adores painting en plein air, mainly in acrylics on stretched canvas, but is equally at home in her studio, creating impressions of the subjects she studied, preferring not to refer to images of the locations.

More recently, Carla started workshops to help inspire both established artists and novices. She has won numerous American and international awards and her work is collected both in America and worldwide.
